![]() ![]() I sat down Saturday and made some changes, tested them in the 5:00 Open Trial, and found them to be pretty great. I was playing in the Open only because I was there, and because a lot of people I cared about were playing. I was in a place mentally, where I was only there to hang out. My current overall lack of interest in the game may have actually helped. Sunday in Indianapolis, things finally came together. I’ve been within reach of top 8 contention twice before this, but lost a couple rounds early each time. I’ve played in roughly eight or nine opens with Manaless Dredge now, and have been fortunate enough to cash five or six of them. I have played it since before I had all of my cards stolen last year (Dredge has since become my only option), and I have developed a reputation as the dredge guy locally. That said, the Manaless option has always been a favorite of mine. ![]() Shout out to Justin Monnin for actually picking them up so we have the option to play it and various other decks at a later point, by the way. ![]() I kept Manaless Dredge and all of my various options for the deck, including the option to build LED Dredge if I ever chose to obtain Lion’s Eye Diamond again. Pictured: A bunch of guys who don’t play magic anymore. Many of them were met through Magic, and I’m proud that those friendships are going to last beyond the game. Instead of spending my Fridays at FNM, I’ve been spending it with my friends. Most of my core friends have been moving away from Magic, and so have I. Part of this was to put a decent payment down on a new car, and the other was due to waning interest. ![]() At Grand Prix Cincinatti I sold my collection aside from my legacy deck, including my prize possession as far as Magic goes, my EDH deck. The JourneyĪs many of you know, either from watching my stream (or lack there of recently), or by talking to me, I have been playing less and less Magic over the last 3 months. A misunderstood deck that is secretly one of the best in the format. I made the top 8 of a StarCityGames Legacy Open, and I did it with a deck I’ve played for almost a year now. Hi all, I don’t generally do tournament reports regardless of result or how interesting things were as they played out. ![]()
